SL Coast Guard Web Privacy Policy v 1.0
Privacy is very important to us at the SLCG. Therefore, this document was created to help members understand what personal information the SLCG collects, and how it is used.
Some analytics are used to evaluate forum usage, such as forum traffic. The SLCG never sells, nor offers personal data to any third party without the written consent of the member. Any member who wishes to view their personal data may make a written request to the ACOS G5, who will respond within 7 working days. The personal data collected will be the User Name, Email Address, and IP Address you provided when you created your forum account. Any other private data volunteered by the member will also be stored on our server in compliance with this policy.
How we use your data.
Your data will be used for the provisioning of your membership to the SLCG. More specifically, the forum, the PMIS (Google Docs – Refer to Google privacy statement for information on how Google handles your private information).
How long does the forum retain your data?
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue. For users that register on our website, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
Embedded content from other websites.
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including, but not limited to, tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website. Please see the privacy policy of the external, third party website, from which the embedded content was provided for further information.
With whom we share your data:
As of the time of the writing of this policy, the SLCG does not share any of your personal information with any third party organization not previously outlined in this document.
What rights you have over your data?
Any member who wishes to view their personal data may make a written request to the ACOS G5, who will respond within 7 working days. You may also request a deletion of any personal information from the SLCG server by requesting this in writing to the ACOS G5. By deleting your data, you will be resigned from the group. Any request for deletion of personal data will not be extended to forum posts as these are classified as public data and will be processed as per the data retention policy. Furthermore, this does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Cookies:
SLCG website services utilizes cookies in order to provide a personalized service to you, the membership. As a result of the use of cookies, the SLCG website may leave trace data on your computer to enable persistent log in processes which are provided to you as a convenience. This means the website will remember your log in information and will log you in automatically.
