SUBJECT: SLCG JOB/BILLET DESRIPTIONS

FOR THE PURPOSES OF CLARIFCATION THE BELOW LISTED JOB BILLETS ARE POSTED. SAME ARE SUBJECT TO MODIFICATIONS/CHANGE AS NEEDED. ANY ERRORS/SUGGESTIONS SHOULD BE REPORTED VIA CHAIN OF COMMAND TO THE SLCG CHIEF OF STAFF FOR REVIEW.

SLCG COMMANDANT
OVERSEES AND DIRECTS DIRECTION OF GROUP. MAINTAINS RELATIONS WITH THE VARIOUS SL RESIDENTS THAT SUPPORT THE SL COASTGUARD. ACTS AS LIASON BETWEEN THE SLCG AND ANY REAL WORLD GOVERNMENT AGENICES.

SLCG DEPUTY COMMANDANT
PREFORMS ANY ACTIONS DEEMED NEEDED IN SUPPORT OF THE COMMADANT IN REGARDS TO POLICY AND GOVERENCE OF GROUP. ACTS AS COMMANDANTS REPRESENTIVE IN HIS ABSENCE. REPORTS DIRECTLY TO THE COMMADANT.

SLCG AIDE-DE-CAMP
PERFORMS PRIMARY DUTY AS AN AIDE-DE-CAMP FOR THE SLCG COMMANDANT, DEPUTY COMMANDANT AND OTHER SLCG FLAG OFFICERS AS AUTHORIZED
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
TRAVELS WITH THE FLAG OFFICER AUTHORIZED AN AIDE-DE-CAMP. PERFORMS DUTIES AS ASSIGNED.
SPECIAL DUTY QUALIFICATIONS:
KNOWLEDGE: FOR RETENTION IN THIS ASSIGNMENT, CURRENT KNOWLEDGE OF SLCG MILITARY CUSTOMS, COURTESIES, ORGANIZATION, MISSIONS, HISTORY AND POLICIES ARE MANDATORY.
EDUCATION: FOR RENTENTION IN THIS ASSIGNMENT NO SPECIFIC EDUCATION IS REQUIRED
TRAINING: NONE
EXPERIENCE: NONE
OTHER: THE FOLLOWING ARE MANDATORY OF ENTRY, AWARD AND RETENTION OF THIS DUTY.
1. IMPECCABLE MILITARY BEARING
2. DEMONSTRATED ABILITY TO ORGANIZE COMPLEX PROJECTS ATTESTED TO IN PERFORMANCE REPORTS OR COMMANDERS RECOMMENDATION OR BOTH.
DUTY SUMMARY: THE AIDE-DE-CAMP SERVES AS A PERSONAL ASSISTANT TO A FLAG OFFICER. NO OFFICER EXCERCISIES COORDINATING STAFF RESPONSIBILITY OVER THE AIDE-DE-CAMP. AIDE-DE-CAMP RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
PROVIDING FOR THE FLAG OFFICERS PERSONAL WELL-BEING AND SECURITY, AND RELIEVING TH FLAG OFFICER OF ROUTINE AND TIME CONSUMING DUTIES. PREPARING AND ORGANIZING SCHEDULES, ACTIVITIES AND CALENDARS. PREPARING AND EXECUTING TRIP ITINERARIES. COORINATING PROTOCOL ACTIVITIES. ACTING AS AN EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT. MEETING AND HOSTING THE FLAG OFFICERS VISITORS AT THE HEADQUARTERS OF THE FLAG OFFICERS QUARTERS. SUPERVISING OTHER PERSONAL STAFF MEMBERS (YEOMEN, ASSISTANT AIDES, ENSLISTED AIDES AND DRIVERS). PERFORMING VARIED DUTIES ACCORDING TO THE FLAG OFFICERS DESIRES. HAS NO COMMAND AUTHORITY OTHER THAN AS STATED ABOVE. REPORTS DIRECTLY TO THE FLAG OFFICER ASSIGNED.

SLCG CHIEF OF STAFF
PREFORMS, MANAGES AND DIRECTS ANY ADMINASTRATIVE FUNCTIONS NEEDED INORDER TO MAINTIAN DIRECTION OF GROUP AS DESIRED BY THE COMMADANT. COS HAS NO COMMAND AUTHORITY AND ACTS AT THE DIRECTION OF THE COMMADANT OR DEPUTY COMMANDANT IN HIS ABSENCE. ACTS AS ADVISOR TO THE COMMANDANT IN REGARDS TO ESTISTING AND/OR FUTURE GROUP POLICYS AND REGULATIONS. REPORTS DIRECTLY TO THE COMMADANT.

ASSISTANT CHIEF OF STAFF (ACOS) G-1 ADMINASTRATION & PERSONNEL
CREATES AND MAINTAINS ANY/ALL DOCUMENTATION AS IT PERTAINS TO GROUP DIRECTIVES, POLICYS, REGUALTIONS AND PERSONNEL. THIS ENCLUDES BUT NOT LIMITED TO LEAVE OF ABSENCES, PROMOTIONS, TERIMNATIONS AND RETIREMENTS. ALSO ENSURES THE PMIS SYSTEM IS KEPT UP TO DATE AND AVAILABLE TO ALL DISTRICT AND AREA COMMANDERS. ACOS HAS NO COMMAND AUTHORITY EXCEPT FOR PERSONNEL ASSIGNED TO THE ACOS G-1 OFFICE AND REPORTS DIRECTLY TO THE COS.

ASSISTANT CHIEF OF STAFF (ACOS) G-2 INTELLIGENCE, INVESTIGATIONS AND INSPECTOR GENERAL
CREATES AND MAINTANINS GRIEFER DATABASE FOR GROUPS USE AND SHARES SAME WITH OTHER SL GROUPS AS AUTHORIZED. CONDUCTS INVESTIGATIONS AS RELATED TO INTERNAL GROUP MEMBER ACTIONS. ADVISES COMMADANT AS TO RECOMMEND ACTIONS IN REGARDS TO SUCH MEMBER ACTIONS. CONDUCTS RANDOM ANNOUCED AND UNANNOUCED INSPECTIONS OF ALL SLCG STATIONS AND OR UNITS TO ENSURE COMPLAINCE WITH CURRENT SLCG POLICES AND MAKES RECOMMENDATIONS TO THE COMMADANT IN REGARDS TO POSSIBLE CHANGES NEEDED. ACOS HAS NO COMMAND AUTHORITY OTHER THAN THE SLIG GROUP AND PERSONNEL ASSIGNED TO THE ACOS G-2 OFFICE. REPORTS DIRECTLY TO THE COS EXCEPT IN THE SITUATION OF MEMBER INVESTIGATIONS WHERE HE REPORTS DIRECTLY TO THE COMMANDANT. ACTS AS LEGAL ADVISOR TO THE COMMANDANT.

ASSISTANT CHIEF OF STAFF (ACOS) G-3 OPERATIONS, TRAINING, SUPPLY & LOGISTICS
AT THE DIRECTION OF AND WITH THE APPROVAL OF THE COMMANDANT CREATES AND MAINTAINS AND MANAGES GROUP REGUALTIONS AND POLICYS AND ACTIONS AS THEY PERTAIN TO THE DAY TO DAY OPERATIONS OF (AVIATION, MARINE, SPECIAL, HONOR GUARD, SECURITY DETACHMENT, SEA EAGLES) OF THE SL COAST GUARD. HAS DIRECT AUTHORITY OVER TRAINING CENTERS, HONOR GUARD, SEA EAGLES AND SECURITY DETACHMENTS, WITH THE COMMADANTS CONCURRENCE. MANAGES SPECIAL EVENT SCHEDULING AND OPERATIONS BY WORKING DIRECTLY WITH THE DISTRICT/AREA COMMANDERS AND EVENT COORIDNATORS TO ENSURE PROPER USE OF SLCG ASSETS AS REQUESTED. ACOS HAS NO COMMAND AUTHORITY EXCEPT OVER TRAINING CENTERS, HONOR GUARD, SEA EAGLES AND SECURITY DETACHMENTSE AND PERSONNEL . MANAGES ALL INVENTORIES OF EQUIPMENT & UNIFORMS FOR THE GROUP. ENSURES NON AUTHORIZED SL RESIDENTS HAVE NO ACCESS TO GROUP LOGOS AND/OR EQUIPMENT WITH PROPER AUTHORIZATION OF COMMANDANT. MAINTAINS CONTACT WITH VENDORS AND DONATORS FOR THE GROUP. REPORTS DIRECTLY TO THE COS.

ASSISTANT CHIEF OF STAFF (ACOS) G-4 EVENT, SUPPORT SERVICES
SUPPORT SERVICES OVERSEES, PLANS, MANAGES MEMBER SOCIAL EVENTS, PUBLIC RELATIONS, IN WORLD EVENTS THAT REQUIRE GROUP PARTICIPATION. ACOS HAS NO COMMAND AUTHORITY EXCEPT FOR PERSONNEL ASSIGNED TO THE ACOS G-4 OFFICE AND REPORTS DIRECTLY TO THE COS.

ASSISTANT CHIEF OF STAFF (ACOS) G-5 CUMMUNICATIONS, SUPPORT SERVICES
COMMUNICATIONS SUPPORT SERVICES OVERSEES AND MANAGES, COMMUNICATIONS, DIRECTS AND MANAGES COMMUNICATIONS CLASSES AND OPERATIONS IN WORLD AND EXTERNAL. MAINTAINS GROUPS EXTERNAL WEBSITE, FORUMS, EDUCATIONAL MOODLE SERVICES. ADVISES COMMADANT DIRECTLY ON ANY EVENT REGARDING REAL WORLD IT FUNCTIONS AS NEEDED. ACOS HAS NO COMMAND AUTHORITY EXCEPT FOR PERSONNEL ASSIGNED TO THE ACOS G-5 OFFICE AND REPORTS DIRECTLY TO THE COS.


AREA COMMANDER
AT THE DIRECTION OF THE COMMADANT, CONDUCTS AND MANAGES DAY TO DAY OPERATIONS OF ALL DISTRICTS AND STATIONS WITHIN ASSIGNED AREA (AOR). ACO HAS AUTHORITY TO CREATE AND MAINTAIN ANY ALL AREA POLICYS WITH THE CONCURRENCE OF THE COMMADANT AND AS LONG AS THEY DO NOT CONFLICT WITH CURRENT SLCG GROUP POLICES. HAS AUTHORITY FOR SUCH PERSONNEL ACTIONS AS APPROVED BY THE COMMADANT. ADVISES COMMADANT ON AREA OPERATIONAL ISSUES. HAS COMMAND AUTHORITY WITHIN AOR AND REPORTS DIRECTLY TO THE COMMANDANT FOR OPERATIONAL ITEMS. WORKS WITH VARIOUS ACOS’S AS NEEDED IN ORDER TO PREFORM DUTIES. MAINTAINS CONTACT WITHIN AOR OF LOCAL SL RESIDENCE AS NEEDED TO ENSURE AWARENESS OF THE GROUPS SUPPORT AND DESIRES. HAS AUTORITY TO SET SEASONAL UNIFORM OF THE DAY WITH GUIDELINE ESTABLISHED BY SLCG GROUP POLICYS.

DISTRICT COMMANDER
AT THE DIRECTION OF THE AREA COMMANDER, CONDUCTS AND MANAGES DAY TO DAY OPERATIONS OF ALL STATIONS WITHIN ASSIGNED AREA (AOR). DCO HAS AUTHORITY TO CREATE AND MAINTAIN ANY ALL DISTRICT POLICYS WITH THE CONCURRENCE OF THE AREA COMMANDER AND AS LONG AS THEY DO NOT CONFLICT WITH CURRENT SLCG GROUP/AREA POLICES. ADVISES AREA COMMANDER ON DISTRICT OPERATIONAL ISSUES. HAS COMMAND AUTHORITY WITHIN AOR AND REPORTS DIRECTLY TO THE AREA COMMANDER. HAS AUTHORITY FOR SUCH PERSONNEL ACTIONS AS APPROVED BY THE AREA COMMANDER. MAINTAINS CONTACT WITHIN AOR OF LOCAL SL RESIDENCE AS NEEDED TO ENSURE AWARENESS OF THE GROUPS SUPPORT AND DESIRES.

STATION COMMANDER
AT THE DIRECTION OF THE DISTRICT COMMANDER, CONDUCTS AND MANAGES DAY TO DAY OPERATIONS OF ALL STATIONS WITHIN ASSIGNED AREA (AOR). SCO HAS AUTHORITY TO CREATE AND MAINTAIN ANY ALL STATION POLICYS WITH THE CONCURRENCE OF THE DISTRICT COMMANDER AND AS LONG AS THEY DO NOT CONFLICT WITH CURRENT SLCG GROUP/DISTRICT/AREA POLICES. ADVISES DISTRICT COMMANDER ON STATION OPERATIONAL ISSUES. HAS COMMAND AUTHORITY WITHIN AOR AND REPORTS DIRECTLY TO THE DISTRICT COMMANDER. HAS AUTHORITY FOR SUCH PERSONNEL ACTIONS AS APPROVED BY THE DISTRICT COMMANDER. MAINTAINS CONTACT WITHIN AOR OF LOCAL SL RESIDENCE AS NEEDED TO ENSURE AWARENESS OF THE GROUPS SUPPORT AND DESIRES.

STATION EXECUTIVE OFFICER
TAKES SUCH ACTIONS AS DIRECTED BY THE STATION COMMANDER AND ACTS AS THE COMMAND REPRESENTIVE OF THE STATION DURING THE ABSENCE OF THE STATION COMMANDER WITHIN THE GUIDELINES GIVEN BY SAME. ENSURES STATION COMMANDER IS MADE AWARE OF ANY ACTIONS TAKEN.

SLCG AIRCRAFT COMMANDER
HAS DIRECT AUTHORITY OVER AND RESPONSIBLTY FOR THE SAFETY OF ALL CREW AND PASSENGERS ONBAORD AIRCRAFT. REPORTS TO STATION COMMANDER OR SPECIAL AUTHORITY AS DIRECTED.

SLCG BOAT COMMANDER
HAS DIRECT AUTHORITY OVER AND RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE SAFETY ALL CREW AND PASSENGERS ONBOARD VESSLE. REPORTS TO STATION COMMANDER OR SPECIAL AUTHORITY AS DIRECTED.
